Welcome to the new EARSHOT page! As you can see, we’ve made some changes here and spiffed up the place. Along with that, the series has made some changes, too.
EARSHOT will now be held on Thursday nights!
After six and a half years of literature-filled Friday evenings, we’ve decided to move to Thursdays. The starting time will remain at 7:30 p.m., so be sure to arrive on time to get a drink and find a good seat!
We’re also cutting down to once a month.
EARSHOT is well known as a bimonthly reading series but we’re scaling back to once a month, starting this season. This means fewer events and spots for readers, but allows for a sharper curatorial eye, as we continue to bring you the best of the emerging literary scene.
And did we mention we have a new venue?
Sad to say, but our beloved Rose Live Music has closed its doors. We’ve found a new home, however: Lolita Bar, located in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan—yes, Manhattan! We’re going back to our roots! Lolita Bar’s address is 266 Broome Street and directions can be found at the bar’s website.
Okay, okay. So when’s the first event already?
We’re kicking off our fall 2011 season on Thursday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Lolita Bar! As always, it’s a mere $5 to get in, which includes a FREE drink. Check out our fabulous line-up:
NINA CORWIN (The Uncertainty of Maps)
SARAH SARAI (The Future Is Happy)
M.J. Corey (Sarah Lawrence/The New School)
Julie Kantor (Columbia University)
Billie Tadros (Sarah Lawrence)
So, mark your calendars, folks! EARSHOT is back.
Oh, and yes, we are taking submissions for the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 seasons. Click the “Submit” link in the menu bar above for more info.
